Inspired by just some of the broad diversity of native North American grasses, this art depicts Little Bluestem, Switchgrass and Gama grass. As opposed to commonly planted 'lawn' grasses, these plants grow many feet high and have roots equally deep - meaning that in addition to all the wonderful wildlife they help support, they also sequester more carbon as they grow into their roots. They are also part of a diverse ecosystem that can be grazed by domesticated livestock using concepts behind regenerative agriculture. They are just cool plants!
Printed by hand, one at a time, on my vintage Vandercook press, using eco friendly practices. They are printed on American made paper from the French Paper Company, which is run entirely on hydroelectric power.
