"Magical and Unusual Solar Eclipse" by local author Silvia Piccinotti builds excitement for both children and adults for the upcoming total solar eclipse on April 8!
Written and informed by the experience of Silvia Piccinotti, a veteran of five total solar eclipses (and counting) and brought to life by the gorgeous illustrations of Rong Pham, “Magical and Unusual Solar Eclipse” invites families into the captivating world of solar eclipses.
Through the eyes of our young explorer, parents and children can navigate the excitement and occasional jitters leading up to a total solar eclipse. This delightful story goes beyond the narrative to also serve as a practical guide.
On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. In the US, the total solar eclipse will be visible along a narrow track stretching from Texas to Maine. A partial eclipse will be visible throughout all 48 contiguous U.S. states.
When a total eclipse happens nocturnal wildlife might wake up thinking it is time to rise and non-nocturnal wildlife might think it is time to head to sleep!
