The fabric in the Dabu (mud resist) collection is handmade from start to finish. Hand carved wooden blocks are dipped into a mud paste (dabu) to create a resist print. The fabric is dipped into a natural dye bath a process traditional to Indian textiles. It's earthy, reliant on nature and skilled artisans. These dresses are easy to wear with tie-straps at the shoulders-converting to a top as the child grows. Intentionally loose fitting for everyday wear- as a cool and airy dress for the summer heat, with layering options in the spring/fall and finally as a top as the child grows.
Designed in DC | Made in India Care: Preferred method, hand wash & air dry to avoid shrinkage and best care for the Dabu fabric. Otherwise, machine wash cold, tumble dry low heat.
